Not Me Monday

(Not Me Monday from MckMamas)
This is not going to be my shortest Not Me Monday post ever.
Because I am not headed off to Target, on this beautiful Monday just four days before Christmas. Not Me! I do not still have two people to shop for, so you know I wont be fighting through crowds and standing in line forever. Not Me!
But if I was, would you wish me luck? Oh and if you haven't yet, would you check out the Rainbow Cake I did not make, and was not proud of. I dont do bragging or anything...No, Not Me! ;)

"Rollin With The Homies"

So sad/shocked when I heard that Brittany Murphy had passed.
I'll remember her from being in these two of my favorites, she played great roles.

I Wish I Could Bake A Cake Filled With Rainbows And Smiles And We'd All Eat And Be Happy...

"Mmmmm El! Cake! Oohh I know that is my red velvet birthday cake! Oooh with that frosting! I cant wait!"
I had the cake wrapped up in my Moms fridge waiting till after presents, but of course she had to take a look. She thought she had it all figured out too! She gave a good guess though, red is the top layer and easiest to see since I was running low on frosting. But she didn't really figure it out till she cut her piece and then it was a round of "Oh My Gosh's!"
So I knew I had regular food coloring in stock, but I went to the craft store to see what kind of dyes they had for baking. I found some icing dye and decided to try that. It made each color super brilliant and bright, but it tasted like crap. I dipped a toothpick in the dye for the purple and blue layer, a little of that stuff goes a really long way. And I also think it made the cake a little mushy, because purple and blue were the softest layers. Anyways. I had major doubts about how the colors would come out after baking, especially after I stopped using the icing dye. I was not happy with the cake mix red I came up with, it was wayyyy too pink, but it was perfect when it came out! I was so happy. I totally thought I was going to have to whip up a batch of cookies instead or something but the cake turned out to be something I was proud to serve. I kind of wanted to call it the exciting cake because that's how it made everyone feel. I was excited to bake it and see how it would come out, I was excited to see how surprised everyone would be, and they were excited to see and taste such a beautiful cake.
I don't know why but sometimes things just don't go as I think they would. I don't know what I was expecting a frosting made with 80% cream cheese to taste like. But it was just a little too cream cheesy for my taste. And then I remembered I wasn't an only child, I have a sister who hates anything cream cheese, so I had to dump it. What a waste! $10 worth of cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar down the drain. But perfectionist wanted her mom to have a cake that tasted as good as it looked, for everyone! So I whipped up a batch of my go to cool whip frosting. Oh but of course I didn't have enough pudding, and not nearly enough cool whip, but plenty of milk. Well, I made it work, I had to. Sure the layers of frosting in between were thin and the cake wasn't heavily frosted all the way around, but I was happy with it! And I couldn't believe that. Perfectionists sometimes doesn't like their own creations you know? But I kind of even surprised myself with the cake. I got to the picture after I started eating ha!

A Beautiful Mess

I'm doing it.
It may not be easy, it may not be fun, it may not be pretty, but I am doing it.
Its for my Mom's birthday, I decided to go all out and be a brave baker.
Attempt to make that beautiful Rainbow Cake.
(I stumbled upon it at MckMama's and I've also seen it here.)
My counter top, fingertips, and sponge, are all stained a rainbow of colors thanks to ever wonderful food coloring. You know what I call that? A mess. A beautiful mess.
What a beautiful mess, what a beautiful mess I'm in, spendin all my time with youuuu theres nothing else I'd rather doooo!
Sorry I had to.
So if the cake turns out somewhat decent, I will proudly serve it to my family.
If not, we'll just say I never spent hours slaving away in the kitchen trying to mix the perfect shade of cake batter orange.
I think it will turn out looking as good as the one in the pictured at MckM's.
Haha who am I kidding! Deep down we all know my version of Rainbow Cake will come out looking if not the same, very similar to what a Rainbow Cake created by a 7 year old with one arm tied behind his back would look like! Lets hope it at least tastes good!

Not Me Monday

Christmas shopping for others, means I did not stop to look at the $5 holiday shirts Target was offering. Yes $5. But no, I did not come home with two of them, plus a sweater. I am not looking forward to wearing cute outfits for Christmas, and the days before! No, not me!

I do not have a fatty cat, nor do I have a red velvet choker with white fuzz made for cats. A cat looking like she has full blown Christmas spirit? So not me!

I did not drive all the way to the mall, only to come home with one lousy gift. One lousy coffee cup (its not really lousy, its got beautiful red roses on it and I know my grandma will love it). But still. Why would I waste the gas, time, and outfit? Exactly. It took me longer to get there and park then it did for me to pick out and pay for the mug. One store, 10 minutes, then back home. Feeling unmotivated, overwhelmed, and not in the mood to deal with the crowd of shoppers? Not me!

So the other day I met up with my Dad at Starbucks for a drink before I had to go in to work. I told him to give me a minute while I stared up at the menu. (I'm team Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) I probably looked lost or like I was trying to read a foreign language. Well I finally decided to go for a caramel apple spice. I've always heard alot about Starbucks holiday drinks but never tried one. Not love it? Not me! It was not too sweet! I loved the taste of sweet apple juice with extra sugar mixed with milk, carmel and some more sugar topped with whipped cream. Hold the drink in my hand and pretend to sip it and then throw it away before walking in to work?

=) Not me!
One more thing, while googling carmel apple spice, I stumbled upon these.
Tell me these are not cute, I tell you your crazy! Oh and Don't forget to stop by
MckMama's!

;)

I went shopping.
With no shoes on.

I wore grey sweats with holes in them.
No makeup on.

Click Cliiiiick Cliiiiiiiiiiiick Cliiiiiick...
That's the sound of me going broke finding the perfect present,
adding it to my cart, and "checking out."
Online Shopping, I love it.

Its replaced blogging! I'm finding great deals on gifts I know the recipient will adore. I feel bad for my mom who is not so computer savvy and the only thing online shopping can provide for her is frustration lol! I'm glad I'm good with computers. It makes it easy, actually almost too easy because if I keep finding such cute stuff I'm going to be in big trouble after Christmas when I realize I spent all my money on the world wide web!

Your Really Lovely Underneath It All

So far, there are only two boxes under the Christmas tree.
Smart man that he is, BF recognizes a shoe box in a heart beat, which is why I came up the idea to cleverly wrap the pair of shoes I bought for him for Christmas. If you live under a rock and don't drink Dr Pepper weekly, then you probably didn't know that 12 cans of soda come in a handy rectangular shaped box. I had two of these boxes on hand. Perfect, one for each shoe. So, their wrapped and tied together with pretty ribbon and I am taking full credit on this soda shoe box idea heh! He'll never guess he's getting a pair of shoes since their wrapped separately! Good idea self!

TMI

Giving you fair warning.
I'm definitely not one that sleeps in the buff, no naked sleeping for me. However, I do keep my "pajamas" minimal. Booty shorts and ok hold on before I get started is there any other term out there better than booty shorts? Because its not really my favorite thing to say and it kinda makes me laugh when I hear myself say it because for some reason I pronounce my "o"s higher pitched than any other letter in a word. So. Please make me aware if there is a better name for that type of underwear. I could go for an increase/rearrangement in that section of vocabulary. Anyways! So that's what covers my behind every lovely night of beauty rest. I just really dont like to be super covered when I'm sleeping, it feels so constricting and I'd rather feel my blankies and BF on my skin, not socks. So top half, tank top or shirt. Everything sounds good right? Wrong! Did you forget what month and season were in? Don't worry, it took me a little while to catch on too, I was sleeping in bras and underwear only to wake up in the middle of the night to search for one of BFs hoodys and a pair of socks. That is precious sleep time wasted, which is why I plan on being one step ahead of that coldness! Sleeping in a thermal and socks but bottoms? I toss & turn a ton and like to do so freely; sweats would only prevent this, I think. Leggings may be too thin though. Hmm....Don't tell Christmas, but I really miss Summer! Well I think I'm done complaining about being frigid...still don't know how you living in colder places survive sleep through the night ha!

If Santa Claus Is Coming To Your Town

Tell him I wouldn't mind a new laptop.
Any of you out there bloggin on some terrific electronic device?
I'm not.
Maybe Santa or BF can change that! Brand, speed, portability, blah blah!
I'm not picky but not a millionaire so that's what I'm working with!
Any recommendations let me hear them!

Let There Be Lights

BF has been working crazy hours so its just been me myself and I. I would have waited for him to help but he's been real tired from work and since I haven't, I decided I'd have a go at it alone. And after all that complaining about not having any decorations up days ago, I figured today would be the day to change that. So I hauled out all the boxes and decided to go crazy. Well not really I wasn't up on the roof with 50 strands of lights or anything. I'm a clumsy girl so I stay away from ladders; all work was done by me reaching & tippy toes. By the way, round of applause to the husbands/men out there who are single handedly responsible for the Christmas light duty, because trust me, its alot harder than it looks. Or maybe it was just that way for me ha! Did I already say I was clumsy? I managed to give myself a really nice burn on my wrist, I guess we have some hot bulbs! I'm a baby when it comes to pain but it was seriously comparable with an oven burn! Anyways, can you tell from my cheap phone pics, I was out there from sun to sundown, finishing right before it got too dark, I think it looks good! We do colored bulbs across the top and white icicles. BFs gonna be so surprised when he pulls up to a bright house!

How Bout Them Apples

See my "Blogs I Read" List
Whatever is the name of it,
There you will find some awesome recipes and my personal favorite apple desert.
But let me give fair warning....
Its incredibly delicious and too easy to make.
If you think you can handle all that...
Go on!

Show Us Your Life!

This week at Kelly's Korner, its Show Us Your Life- Christmas Trees!
I think ours went up on Wednesday...J was working and I got bored watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with the dog and decided to put up our fakey! Our house looks a little more merrier, but not nearly as good as some of the entries on Kelly's site. I would loveee to have enough time, money, and cute decorations to make my house look like some of the ones on there! Four trees in one house how amazing. Christmas trees in nursery's make my heart melt. I saw this on a blog I follow and my jaw dropped, and stayed like that for a good minute while I processed the fabulousness! The one Kelly has in her little girls room is pretty adorable too!
Please excuse my teeny phone picture and naked tree! Ornaments...Were working on it!
P.S. Does Christmas time bring out baby fever? I see babies in bows and Christmas outfits and think nothing but I want one! Not lying my mom literally pushed me past all the newborn red & green onesies at Kohls the other day! So cute! But not my time =) Guess I'll have to ooooh and awwww at the babies on blogs I follow instead haha!

Joy To The World

Do You Hear What I Hear?
Yes, The Poor College Student That Has Been Waiting Since August Finally Received Her Financial Aid Check.
Bells Will Be Ringing! Although At First, It Was Not Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas,
It Has Now Become The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. So Let It Snow! Here Comes Santa Claus!
P.S Like My Chrismas Song Collection? It was hard work. Not. Thanks Google list of Christmas songs!
Yayyyy! Wait, I'm not a shallow money lover or anything! Just I spent a fortune on books this semester and it really threw my whole budget off so I've been having to notspendanymoneyonanything pinch pennies just to put gas in the car/buy groceries/bills, etc! Sooo this check is much needed, highly anticipated with the holidays coming! (Don't worry, I know the real meaning of Christmas and all that! Six pound 9 ounce sweet baby Jesus =) Talladega Nights Anyone?) But I just love picking out the right presents for everyone! So it arrived not a minute too soon but in perfect time for me start, (yes start I now finally have $$) my shopping! Yayyyy! I am now in full on Christmas mode, not that money is everything its the only thing but with cushion in the bank I'm just not nearly as on edge which in turn leads to higher levels of Christmas cheer wooo wooo!

A Perfect Cake

He loved "The Office" inspired sign, he was cracking up, but more than that, he loved the cake. I cut him a huge piece and it was gone in like that. I was pleased with it too. I think I could say it was one of my best baking's ha! I couldn't go all out on gifts for him this year so I wanted the cake to be as close to perfect as possible. So not bad for using two different sized pans. Marble cake with my favorite frosting that I use on most of my cakes...

Super Yummy Super Easy Frosting
1 sm. box chocolate/vanilla/whatever flavor instant pudding
1- 3/4 cup milk
cool whip

Those are the ingredients and since the recipe is in my head, just go with whatever looks good for yourself! I wanted a thicker consistency for the middle filling, so I think I only added about a cup of milk or so, then mixed in enough cool whip to my liking. With the vanilla pudding, I added more than 1 cup of milk and lots of cool whip, because it needed to frost the whole cake. I love this frosting, well that's what I call it because that's what I use it for mostly, but honestly its good for anything sweet, its yummy even by itself, it tastes like mousse you know? And really any flavor pudding, I like chocolate for cakes, vanilla is good with berries! You wont be sorry you tried it =)

Dear December

Dear December,
Please slow down, don't go by so fast.
We were meaning to put the lights up right after Thanksgiving but time just passed.
I'm not sure but I could be experiencing symptoms of NCDE. (NeighborsChristmasDecorationsEnvy) Theirs look great and J and I made a pact to get ours up right away-they will be cuter anyway tomorrow!
December, I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. So if you could just not go by so fast I mean does the 14th really have to be 2 weeks away? Because that is basically here and after that 10 days til Christmas? Give me a break! December do you know what the mall looks like the week before Christmas? Obviously not! But I do! I have not only shopped but worked there too, and December I plan to shop there soon, I mean as soon as I get my check, which is actually not soon at all, which is why I repeat, I need you to slow down. December I hope your getting all this. (deep breath) Look December, you stress alot of people out with your final exam dates. You don't need to create more stress by speeding away, you don't need to tell me the 6th is in however many days its in.
December, I know you want to sneakily creep into your second and third week way before I can get all my decorations up and have any shopping done. But if you just please slow down, and just give me a little bit of time to get organized and decide what I'm getting who and where I'm getting it from, and enough time to study to do well on my finals, oh and time to get my Mom a birthday gift. See December? People have alot going on! Soooo if you would just slow down, yours truly here would totally appreciate it. Thanks D, I'll even make some Christmas cookies if you let me...
P.S. I'm posting this as written on the 1st even if its not take that. I'm slowing December down in my mind if no where else.
P.S.P.S These are adorable.

Tuesday's List

Love From Texas, Tuesdays List
this week:
TV FAVORITES! Here's mine:

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Definitely one of my favorites, wish there were more episodes!

Gossip Girl. I was pretty obsessed with the books when I was a teen so I'm not surprised I like the show so much. What is surprising is that I can get the BF to tune in! All that drama just sucks you right in ha!

I get all my news from E! News.

Reality TV. My guilty pleasure. Sometimes I'd rather see the craziness of people on cheaply made shows rather than a deep CSI type storyline. The best of the worst that I can not get enough of? Tough Love, For The Love Of RayJ & Dr.Drew Sex Rehab all on Vh1. And I've always been a fan of Bravo's Real Housewives.

Thursday Night Funny TV: The Office, 30 Rock, Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. My comedy section, look forward to this night of laughs!

Any show on Food Network. The one channel I never get to watch. Ohh the things you do for love! When BF is not home I get my fix by watching Ina, Giada, Paula D & Sandra Lee with no break in between ha!

Shows on HGTV, TLC, & Discovery, etc: Spice Up My Kitchen, Cake Boss... Even a good nature show or documentary!

Thats pretty much our must haves & DVR list! Throw in some UFC, football & basketball and that's basically TV for us!

Miraculous Something

I went in knowing I would buy the same style push up I always pick out. The sales lady asked if I wanted to try on their new bra and I said sure. Am I the only one that sees the commercial at least once a day? Anyways. The bra sold itself and I bought it. In white...and then I changed my when I got home and wanted black which of course they didn't have in my size. I'm waiting to see if they'll get it in the next few weeks, until then I have store credit, and no bra. Which really makes me sad because it really is a miraculous bra. They picked a good name. Its well made, it has good hardware it really holds you in there ha! Need the cleavage or not, either way its a great bra. At least, its my favorite! Well it will be whenever I get my black one....

Not Me Monday

Neither the pumpkin or apple desserts we had for Thanksgiving tasted very good, so I didn't have a second serving of apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Yuck, not me. Oh and don't let anyone tell you my dinner on Friday night looked the same as the night before. So not true, so not me! And I do not believe in eating late, so you know I would never cut myself a piece of pumpkin desert, after 9 o'clock pm. That would not be good on my sensitive stomach. You see if these were my eating habits, I would have woke up on Saturday morning not feeling good or something...So all of that? Not Me!

Black Friday? I for sure was not going out shopping. Everyone knows I'm not a morning person, especially my boyfriend, so there is really no point in even trying to wake me up at such a ridiculous hour. Which is why I did not set my alarm for 5 o'clock in the morning. It would have gone something like, me not even hearing the alarm and my boyfriend turning it off and asking me if I was getting up to go, to which my reply would have been pulling the covers over me no thanks. Me getting up is a joke, which is why I again, did not even bother setting my alarm for early hours. Not Me!

Just because the dog looked so cute sleeping all curled up in a ball, doesn't mean I snapped a picture of him. Just because my boyfriend and I consider our pets our children, doesn't mean I would text him that picture and title it "sleeping baby". Not me!

(join in on the "Not Me" fun at MckMama's!)

Out Of The Box

She loves a good box. Cardboard, plastic, wicker is her favorite... As long as it is square and she can fit inside...Well even if she cant, she'll still have a blast. Many times I've caught her sleeping in the pink box my boots came in... Just this week a FedEx box was mailed and she has been all over it. I love that she is a cat in the box, its quite funny to see her play around in there, plus it's a cheap/convenient way to keep her happy!

1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while you are blogging?
I lovee 100 calorie packs.

2. What is one thing you wouldn't want to live without?
Well besides my family I guess a razor? I don't know, I just wouldn't want to live without smooth legs you know.

3. Beach, Mountains, or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?
I would try mountains.

4. What's your least favorite chore/household duty?
I hate everything when it comes to cleaning. I don't like putting away my clothes. Doing endless loads of laundry irritates me. But I really don't like doing the dishes.

5. Who do people say you remind them of?
Someone they know, I get alot of "you look familiar"s.

6. Do you prefer parties and socializing or staying home with the family?
Well I like to go out if its somewhere I really want to be and I have a good outfit. Other than that, total homebody! Nothing beats cuddling on the couch...and with a fire going? Then you've really got me lol.

7. What's your all time favorite movie?
Titanic. All time favorite favorite I stop to watch it every time its on TV! All of it.

8. Do you sleep in your make-up or remove it like a good little girl every night?
I sleep in it! Eeeee I know, so bad! Ill use remover if I remember. But I don't wear alot though and usually shower before bed so all that's really left is eyeliner.

9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you've never had a chance to learn? What is it?
Hmm no hidden talents but I so wish I could learn to be a good dancer, like DCC veteran status! Haha, yes that is my favorite show.

I think fresh bread smells sooo good.

13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.
Two things, I lose/misplace everything and, I can never make up my mind. I misplace my phone, atm card, everything. Then I find it somewhere random. I try to get J to make all the decisions. What to eat, what to wear, I can never decide on anything.

14. When you have extra money, what's the first thing you think to do with it?
Extra money? Whats that mean?! Ha!

15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher? What makes you laugh the hardest?

Not sure about which store but I love trying on jeans.

17. What's one thing you'd do more often if you had more time?
Study.

18. Are you a big spender or frugal?
So frugal! I don't have the big bucks right now to be buying things that aren't of necessity. I'm a sales & coupons kind of gal.

19. Who is your favorite character of all time? (from a movie or a book, can't be real)
Minnie Mouse.

20. Would you want to be famous?
Not so much for the fame but all the great clothes, makeup, fabulous purses, well ok.

So Black Friday? Its easy for me to say no thanks to the deals, even the 32 inch TV for 250$ at (where else? )Target and all the laptop deals going on at best buy. Why is it easy? I don't have $250 to spend anyways haha! I've bundled up and faced the crowds before but this is not my year to return to the craziness.
Hey if your looking for a pumpkin sweet treat, look no further, try this recipe. This is basically my favorite recipe ever for a pumpkin something. Is it still a pie if its rectangular? Anywho, my mom says "I don't really like pumpkin pies, you know, but I really like the pumpkin desert you make." I don't like to make it the night before because it is so hard to keep anyone out of it! Its super easy to make and the leftovers don't stay leftover for long. So yummy I cant wait to eat it!
1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup cold butter
4 eggs
1 can pumpkin
1 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1 t ground ginger
1/2 t ground cloves
2 cans 12 ounces each evaporated milk
In bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and flour, cut in butter until the mixture resembles crumbs. Press in 13X9. Next, mix all other ingredients. Pour in crust. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 and bake for 50 minutes or until the filling is set. Cut into squares top with whipped cream blah blah blah.

The Opposite Of A Cake Boss

My sister called me the other night with a crisis. She was baking a cake, she failed. Not surprising. Cake was supposed to be taken to her early a.m class so she was freaking out. And of course she had no box mixes for backup, and not all the ingredients for anything else homemade. So here is where I come in. It was late but I wasn't tired yet for some reason so I whipped up a Betty Crocker butter recipe chocolate cake in no time. I am such a good sister. I was planning on piping "Nursing 2010" in red frosting, but it looked more pink than red so I "wrote" it in sprinkles. It came out really cute and she was super grateful. I'm super grateful the cooking gene skipped her and landed with me. When I say skipped her, I mean it, she would have trouble following the directions to boiled water! Ha! Although she is blessed to have the medical skill/nursing gene that got her through the program, I'm glad the cooking one landed with me and not her. I have my cooking/baking skills and can always call her, my family nurse if I need more than a bandaid :) So you know what looks like something I'd like...Well I don't even have a Wii but if I did, I think I would totally be playing that game from Food Network! Looks so fun!

Show Us Your Life!

The dog has always been attached to me, whenever I leave the room his eyes don't leave from whichever direction I last went. He knows when the car pulls up, I'm home. Ok so don't laugh, but me and J will stand by each other and call the dog to us, fighting for his attention to see who he will come to first right. So I'm used to winning in like 2 seconds but I've been noticing for awhile now that J is giving me a run for my money. Its quite surprising actually to have to work a little hard to get him to come to me! I got the dog three years ago and have been with J for about two and a half...They have so become attached, I love it. The dog is trained fairly well and has only one major problem, his spastic barking! Sometimes its ridiculous. He loves the dog park, but more than that, he loves himself a ride in the car! He gets so excited to jump in and sit on my lap/look out the window/sleep if its a long drive. He's basically a 5 pound magnet I cannot take him anywhere, car or place, without getting attention. Mostly from elderly people and kids. Especially when hes wearing a shirt =) I get at least 5 "aww puppy!"s ha!
I wish I could get the collage bigger but I am not so computer savvy. The cat, we adopted her together, shes our little baby. She'll be two years next spring. She sleeps on my side of the bed Sh for some reason. She loves to eat, but she love love loves fresh water! She knows when I'm holding her dish full of fresh water and she gets excited. If you ever met a bratty cat, this is her. She is very much a princess. She meows until someone feeds her. Someone is J, because I refuse to fall for that meow I haven't ate in a month when I just watched her polish off her whole portion. Does that explain the tummy? Yes, shes extremelya little tubby. If you cant tell by the pictures, trust me. I find it so funny when I call her fat fat fatty. But the boyfriend does not. I am totally on my own because those two are on a team! I try to diet her and ration her food but she totally has my boyfriend wrapped around her finger. Daddy's girl much. Couch scratching and knocking over everything in sight, she gets off the hook with the big guy. She can do no wrong in his eyes. She is the cutest cat in the world though, so its hard to stay mad at her for very long!

If you have never checked out Kelly's Korner, please do so! I haven't ever linked up to any of her "Show Us Your Life" posts, so I was so super excited for this one!

Here's My Review

Previously, I've been a sucker for packaging. Well...A cool shaped bottle with awesome looking beads too!? In the basket you go. I opted for green, the purple smelled a little too flowery and I try to go for soaps that J can also use in case his stuff runs out. Soooo. Its good. It is slowly turning into a favorite. It lathers up alot. Which works really good for leg shaving. The two best parts: 1-how cool it looks, 2-how soft the whole "serum" deal leaves my skin. Really.

Since were on body washes....Axe Dark Temptation was the last product J picked out for himself. I'll review it for him. Great, yes sure we'd buy it again. He smells so good. Guy soap is the best. (smell)
I hate lotion. I don't like dry skin, but I really don't like lotion. It feels greasy. Yes I've tried different ones. They feel greasy. And I cant stand my palms feeling all lotion-y! Like I ask J to put lotion on my legs and arms for me because I hate it being on my hands so much. Those days are over. From someone picky that doesn't really like lotion, this one is awesome. Arms and legs, feet. Its light enough you don't feel it on your skin but you feel it, if that makes any sense! But I love that! Its light enough to smell your perfume over. Hoooooray.

Thats A Good Question

How should teachers handle students texting during classtime?
Honestly it would be easier for me to debate this topic than to find solutions for it. Text messaging interrupts the entire class. Really!? I just can't agree that discretely tapping a touch screen disrupts the whole class. I find myself good to go, as long as its on silent of course. Whatever I cant help it! I have a boyfriend that I like to check in with and send ILY's to, and a Mom with the same network! (hello free texts!) I'm not obnoxious about it, and sometimes it really is vital, example I text J to tell him when I'm ready to be picked up.

How should teachers handle students texting during classtime?
If you didn't know, teachers find texting in class extremely disrespectful and unacceptable.

Seeing as how I am one of those "students that texts in class" I am having a brainfreezeihavenoideawhattowrite little trouble coming up with a detailed solution, to what appears to be a situation teachers are dealing with from middle school to college. What works? Take the phone away? Embarrass them? Watch them send the message, pick the pen back up and resume working!? Take points away?

Anyways, anyone stopping by my blog pleeeeeease leave a suggestion I obviously need all the help I can get!

Pair Of Genes

Jeans, I do adore.
I was ecstatic when I first discovered Abercrombie & Fitch's version of "long" because it is truly long. I'm a tall girl and still end up walking on my pairs.

So, my sister, same genes =) Lets burn her out quickly by talking about the jean section of her fabulousdoesntevendescribeit closet. Citizens, R&R, 7s. I haven't been in there lately but shes got to have at least 25 pairs folded and hanging. I know right? I think I'm going to look for the licences plate frame that says something like "this car stops at all Nordstroms", for her Christmas gift.

My Joe's Jeans. They are a couple years old. Thanks to cold hard cash and a leftover Macy's gift card. I remember standing in the store, holding onto the jeans thinking, you wear jeans almost every day these are worth it. My first $100+ pair of jeans. But they have that ballet slipper fit; slides on smooth and hugs all the right spots so they fit just right. So worth it. The man knows they can make an outfit complete(not sure how many times I've said "set out my joes please"). I'm working on paying down the plastic...so there's not a spot for a new pair in my budget. However there is a spot on the Christmas list! And its like what a month away!? =)

Can't speak for anyone else but I live in jeans (and dresses :)!

Not Me!

Since being in a relationship with J, I did not completely forget how to pump gas. Not me! I still remember you have to pay first and foremost. Pressing the "regular" button repeatedly and pumping the gas nozzle furiously, before realizing you still have to slide the card and enter zipcode. Not me, I know and still totally remember how to do that. Just because my gentleman is the one to pump 99% of the time doesn't mean I would absolutely forget how the whole gas fill up thing works, Not me!

I am regular about grocery trips and all that. So it was not me that was stuck looking into an empty refrigerator at dinner time. Not me that cooked maple bacon and Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls and called it dinner. So Not me! Where is the protein in that? Exactly. Not Me!

I didn't sleep in this weekend past eleven. I did not wake up to find washed cars, finished laundry, a clean house, and a clean bathroom. J is not a great boyfriend to do such things. I am not so lucky. Not me!

One last thing I definitely did not just do. Add the DCC Yoga Dvd to my Christmas list. Not me!
See what MckMama and everyone else have not been doing!

Baby, It's So Easy Loving You

I'm sick and tired of droids and transformers.
Done with dinosaurs & pirates.
I am light sabered-out. Bionicles I've had enough of.
But the nephew himself.
Never ever sick of him. Can't get enough.

Its been such a cozy weekend with the bf.
So lovely.
It just comes natural =)

Wishy Washy

Sunday afternoon I applied to UGA. Sunday night, we were laying in bed, watching TV. I put my chin on his chest and my eyes welled up as I shamefully admitted my cold feet in regards to moving. I am extra thankful that he is extra patient and understanding about everything. He guessed right what was wrong right away, he knows how close I am with my family. I first got cold feet thinking about all the things I'd miss seeing my nephew do in elementary school the next few years. Cold feet for me doesn't necessarily mean the plan is cancelled...I want to go "be a young person out in the world", as my Dad calls it. But I just keep thinking its soooo faaarrr away. Didn't I sound so convinced and confident here? Ha! I've only been excited thinking about starting what will be a new adventure in a new town trying to make new friends and all that, but the excitement was gone and I was only overwhelmed. Every time I think about how much I'd miss my fam, I find myself on google looking at local universities. LOL. But I really do want to go, I picked GA for a reason and I do want to experience it...But...Ugh. So many mixed thoughts all over the place. And where besides this page am I going to put them all? Well anyways...This weekend...I'm going to shop online for the birthday boy =) Hopefully we can just relax, and I'll squeeze in some studying in between football watching and laundry...Oh and my nephew will be with us Friday & Saturday night while my sister works! Oh and last thing, Just a Girl has this fabulous DIY gift gathering thing going on, and through it I found a blog with what looks like a super fun project. I wanted to save it for him for Christmas but I think it would be a fun activity to do with him this weekend! (thanks JAG & L2C)Fun, but messy I'm thinking.
